Update since it's been a while

Looks like we haven't updated since cast #3 so it's been a long time!  Cade had gotten down to a 20 degree curve.  He underwent two more casting procedures for a total of 5 Mehta casts that took place over a 15 month time span.  We thought he was going to get a 6th cast but his doctor recommended taking a break and moving to bracing.  Cade got his first brace in October 2016.  The brace was to be worn as much as he would tolerate it during the day.  Over the past year, Cade has done an awesome job of wearing his brace about 12 hours per day on average.  We have our moments where he doesn't want to wear it and we make exceptions, but we also remind him how much better the brace is than the cast or surgery.   We visited his brace guy several weeks ago because we were having difficulty getting the brace to fit correctly and he determined that Cade had outgrown it and needed a new one.  Cade picked out the pattern and a new one was ordered.  We had a checkup with his orthopaedic doctor this past Thursday, 10/6.  Cade got an x-ray to check progress.  Much to our surprise, Cade is showing no signs of scoliosis at this time.  His spine is perfectly straight!  We'll go back in April for another X-ray to see if he is maintaining this.  We then picked up his new brace.  The current plan is to wear this one the same amount and then possibly talk about a brace break following that appointment.  Cade will need monitoring until adulthood when he is done growing because there is a chance the curve could return, but for now we are thrilled with his progress and are so lucky we have the team of specialists that have been great to work with.  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers throughout this.
Love Eric, Jill, Rylan, Cade, and Hayes

Sorry it's sideways but the top pic is his current X-ray and the bottom one shows where he started in March 2015
